Bill Moyers, Another MUST SEE article and Video

Bill Moyers: Cheney Has Been Fighting to Spy On You For Over 30 Years [ Video]

After my usual morning execution of spam mail with my delete button I started going over the relevent emails which include emails from friends, newsletters, alerts etc., etc. I came upon my Alternet subscription and went off to see the latest. My eyes came upon the article mentioned in the title , Posted at 12:30 PM on October 29, 2007. This post, written by Nicole Belle, originally appeared on Crooks and Liars.

Moyers looks at the undoing of Congress’ checks and balances put in place following the Church Committee hearings and the unprecedented expansion of Executive authority in the wake of 9/11.

BILL MOYERS refers to The lives of Others, a chilling political thriller which deals with the Stasi, the notorious secret police of East Germany. For a full review of the movie you can go to

The fact that it is relevant in our current times with the Big Brother Mentality that seems to permeate Government is the real issue and what Bill Moyers points to.

“Our government ignores habeas corpus, practices secret torture, and asks for the right to wiretap and eavesdrop on its citizens” Roger Ebert.

Where will it end? I can’t help but to think that little by little our society is turning into that portrayed in the Denzel Washington movie ” Siege of New York “.

Due to the amount of times that this movie continues to be repeated on TV makes me wonder if the government is involved in using it as a bit of propaganda to keep the general public in a state of fear. Remember the same types of films that were played in theaters during World War II?

It is a chilling scenario as to what we can expect. Right now many feel that we are virtually on the edge of WWIII. Just think of that for a one moment.

You should go to PBS and take a look at Bill Moyers transcript.
