Oh Obama, Why?

December 5, 2009

For those keeping score you might want to check out the Obameter  over at PolitiFact
For a great many of the American people the one thing on their minds right now is the increase of 30,000 more soldiers to Afghanistan. If he couldn’t do it with the soldiers he has had until now what makes him think that 30,000 more will make a difference?
Obama is currently on the road towards booting himself out of office. Now that he has been in office for a while people are beginning to see his true colors. Now we begin to see broken promises. And what about health care and the pharmaceutical industry. You might want to take a look at this article:
From the Washington Post :

Candidate Barack Obama offered a lofty vision of how his White House would operate. When the details of health reform were being hammered out, he vowed, “We’ll have the negotiations televised on C-SPAN so that people can see who is making arguments on behalf of their constituents, and who are making arguments on behalf of the drug companies or the insurance companies.”

Obama’s big mistake is that he went to Washington!!! Now he has found out how the game is played especially the back room deals. It’s no wonder people are starting to resign. Check it out here.

The most worrying fact for most Americans is that 30,000 more young lives are being sent into harms way on a mission that can’t succeed.  This is already turning into Obama’s Vietnam!!! It is getting to be pretty obvious that Obama has kissed his re-election chance good bye!  The 30,000 troops have  put the nails in the coffin. Who is going to believe him now?  Well, we seem to have the old Potomac two-step
The sad part is that many Americans saw a new hope in Obama, a new dream.

More than 200 protesters marched a half mile to a rally at the military academy’s gates. They carried candles and protest signs saying “The audacity of torture,” “Get out now,” and “How many lives per gallon?” One protester, carrying a large cardboard bomb, wore an American flag as a cape and a mask of President Bush breaking through a mask of Obama.

President Barack Obama is scheduled to deliver a speech to the nation tonight from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., in which he’s expected to announce he’s sending up to 35,000 more U.S. troops to Afghanistan.

U.S. Labor Against The War

We are at a turning point in US History. In 2008 the labor movement had a moment of triumph, playing a critical role in electing Barack Obama and a majority Democratic Congress. In 2009 we find ourselves still in the middle of a devastating economic crisis with wars and militarism standing between working people and the peaceful just world we seek and deserve.
